Robot City

For the 2017 edition, which took place on September 10th in Cinecittà (Rome), The Marbleman donated Julius Caesar, an art table shaped entirey from Carrara Paonazzo marble, which in its harmonious forms and with great attention to detail recalls the Colosseum, the monument which most closely represents the Italian Roman city.

Originally called Anfiteatro Flavio, the impressive arena built from the beginning of the I century A.D, under the Flavi dynasty, has found its match in the lines defined by the highly technlogical robotic machines of the Vanelli Groupwhich have managed to conserve the warmth and harmonious movement of the Majestic amphitheatre.

The proceeds were entirely donated to the educational projects promoted by the ABF and the Muhammed Ali Parkinson Center in Haiti and Itay and in paticular, in Sarnano in the province of Macerata for the reconstruction of the Giacomo Leopardi junior high school which was condemned when hit by the devastating earthquake.

However, the journey of the sculpture did not end here. Thanks to the enormous success of the work, which become the icon of the event, Gualtiero Vanelli was invited to donate a copy for the Gran Gala organized on September 28th by Prince Albert II of Monaco with Leonardo DiCaprio, known not only for his cinema career but also for the commitment which his foundation of the same name continues to dedicate to our Planet.
